CodeRED Registration

Clay County Health Department continuously plans and prepares for public health emergencies. These emergencies include bioterrorism, health hazards related to natural disasters, and disease outbreaks. The health department will provide  information, instructions and guidance to the public In the event of a public health emergency.

Clay County is now utilizing the CodeRED Emergency Notification System–an ultra high-speed telephone service for emergency notifications.

USE: This system allows us to send critical messages, to all areas or targeted areas of the county in case of an emergency that requires immediate action for citizens. This system can dial all numbers in the database within minutes. It will deliver a recorded message describing the situation and any instructions needed for immediate or future action. The message will play when answered by a live person or an answering machine and makes three attempts to connect with each number. If you choose to receive a text message and/or email alert, those will also be sent.

CALLER ID: The calling number will display 866-419-5000. To hear the last message delivered, simply dial the number back.

PRIVACY: Your contact information remains private and will only be used for critical communications.

CodeRED Database: If you reside or own property , including a business in Clay County, you are urged to sign up for CodeRed Emergency Messages.

THIS SYSTEM WILL ONLY BE USED FOR EMERGENCY AND LIFE SAFETY PURPOSES. Examples of potential use of CodeRED could be: drinking water contamination, extended utility outages, evacuation notices, missing persons, fires, floods, and other incidents where quick and accurate notification is needed for life safety.

To insure that the calls reach residents and utility users, accurate and up-to-date information is needed in the database.

To add or change a phone number, including cell phones, please revisit the CodeRED registration page and re-enter your updated information.

If you have any difficulty in entering your information, or at any time wish to be removed from the CodeRED database, please send your information by email to or call (828) 389-8052. Requests to be removed from the database should be made in writing.
